One of the main reasons I love this music is because it constantly amazes me with the passion of young people to offer to each species of metal. But what if their talent is recognized gradually? Today we host Dyp from Forsaken World, one of the bands that will open the concert for Madruk and Immolation.
- Hello Dyp. Do I catch you in France?
Dyp: Hi Labrini and all the readers of rockoverdose.gr, yeah I'm in France right now warming up for the upcoming tour!
- I first saw your band name at the poster of Massive Music, touring with Marduk . Is that your first time on tour or you have done that again?
Dyp: It's our very first experience of touring, and that's not the smallest one, 42 shows with Marduk & Immolation across the Europe! It will be extreme but I think it's a great opportunity to export our music outside of France and share our art and passion with all the european metalheads. You know in France it's really hard to play that kind of music with a non open-minded government and a very selective public. So with this tour I hope that it will make our name known to a largest public.
- So, you are a newly-formed band. Tell us a few words about your start.
Dyp: Yeah that's right, the band was born in august 2010. I've met Flyshredd at the Music Academy International, my first band Moonlord needed a guitarist so I've asked him and he joined the band.
After some months, he told me that he has the project to create a new band and that he wanted my voice for it. So I told him "Yeah why not!", and we began to record some demo songs that worked really fine. So after a year we've decided to record the first album and then, a year after the recording process we're in front of a big European tour!

- It’s a two-member band. Are you going to have session members on the tour?
Dyp: Yes, Me and Flyshredd are the core of the band. Ηe writes the music and I write the lyrics and all the concepts around the band, we wanted to remain the two "bosses" to develop easily and give the right personality to our music.
But to play our music in live we need other members ! So, 3 very talented musicians are on stage with us, that maybe in the future will become "officials" members.
- You released your first full-length album “As Time Reflects our End” this year. How much time did it take to finish the recordings?
Dyp: Well, the recordings began in July 2011. We have spent a week in my own studio "The Quiet Place Studio" to record all the instruments part, a few weeks after in august I've recorded all the vocals part and done the mixing process in September.
I didn't wanna make the mastering myself because I wanted to have some other "sound personality" on the album. So we've send the album to Brett Caldas-Lima in the "Tower Studio" in october for the mastering.
- And who did the artwork?
Dyp: All the artwork, designs and the logo have been made by Genguiz Gokaltay from studioarkham.com, it's a comrade of the Music Academy International that is really talented in what he do, he understands the concept of what we want in a very short time. I think we will work again with him for the future.
- Any future plans? Do you have more upcoming tours?
Dyp: Of course, the main concept of the forthcoming album is already written and it will begin where we ended with "As Time Reflects Our End", but I don't think there will be another tour until this future second album release, there will be some gigs and festivals shows in France (or in other countries?) but nothing that we can call a tour. So don't miss this tour it will be the only one of the "As Time Reflects Our End" Era!
- Ok then, see you soon in Greece! Thanks for your time!
Dyp: Thanks you for the interview and hope to see some great metalheads in Greece!
If I can permit myself to end this with :
"Now that we have collected all the Fragments of A Modern Extinct Era, let's bury them all into the ashes of the earth and cover them with our endless will of build a better world for all.
For the good of all the Survivors, the Forsaken World must never become like the Modern Extinct Era. We understood, As Time Reflects Our End."
